She is a very quick student, so is taking advantage of the individualized student programs at Delphian that allow her to move ahead in her studies at her own, rapid pace. At this rate, it is likely that she will complete her junior and senior levels of high school before she turns 16!

Demi Prescott is doing extremely well at Willamina High School. Two years younger than her classmates, she has maintained straight A’s in all her classes. Growing up with Delphi’s system of independent learning, she found it very easy to adjust to the grading system. Her teachers have noticed that Demi doesn’t just want to pass assignments - she wants to learn the material so she can apply it. Demi credits the study technology she learned at Delphi Academy for her success, saying,
“With study technology under my belt, I know that I can excel anywhere and I have proven that. I have also shown my fellow classmates that you can know and apply your studies. They look up to me and I help them to want to do better… I am constantly helping people with their studies and when needed, I tell them that they should look up the definition to a word or draw out a problem to understand it better. The experience here at Willamina High School has been well worth it. For the future, I’m not set on graduating from this school. I’m planning to return to the Delphian School and stay to graduate Form 8 (senior year). However, since I’ve had this experience, I know that I can do well anywhere if I continue to use my study tech.”

Shruti Swaminathan entered Presentation High School with Honors as a freshman after graduating from Delphi Academy's Middle School. She’s now been accepted to the National Young Leaders State Conference on the basis of academic excellence. Although she spent the first five months of high school being nostalgic for Delphi, she has been doing very well at Presentation: making friends from different places, gaining a lot insight into different cultures and religions, and getting excellent grades in her classes.
Some of you may remember her lead role in the “Mad Adventures of Mr. Toad” musical at Delphi; she is continuing her musical inclinations in high school. Shruti auditioned for and was accepted into the Presentation Jazz Choir where she has performed in St. Joseph’s Cathedral Basilica in downtown San Jose as part of the Season of Hope series and even traveled for a choir competition to New Orleans!

Annette Yao has enjoyed art and writing since her Elementary School days at Delphi Academy. Now in her senior year in high school at Leland, she has enjoyed improving her knowledge of writing and literature with Accelerated English classes, AP English and AP Literature. She truly enjoys literature analysis, loves to write with excellent sentence structure, and doesn't mind writing lots and lots of essays. The teachers are demanding, so as to get everyone ready for Advanced Placement courses, but Annette is doing well. She uses her study skills from Delphi, makes sure to restudy important notes and clear the words she doesn’t know and finds that - thanks to Delphi - she can also spell a lot better than most of her classmates.
In the arts, she’s working on a children’s book project and makes sketches in her free time to improve her skills. She’s also interested in Biology and Zoology, not just to get an idea of how the environment and animals function, but also to learn how to draw the basic body structure for humans so as to improve her drawing style. She’s also taking Japanese, which ties in to her manga-style art that many Delphi alumni will remember!
Overall, Annette is enjoying the challenges of high school, has made friends and is pursuing her goals. She wishes all future Delphi graduates the best of luck in high school!
